Ibn Kuraish, Judah

(fl. 10th cent)
North African philologist. He was born in Morocco and became a physician. He wrote an Arabic letter to the Jewish community in Fez, protesting against the elimi-nation of the recitation of the Aramaic Targum. In this letter he laid the foundation for a method which was later of considerable help in solving problems of biblical vocabulary.
